The Seven Bowls of God's Wrath
1Then I heard a loud 255voice saying to the seven angels, “Go pour out on the earth the 256seven bowls of the wrath of God.”
2So the 257first went and poured out his bowl on the earth. Then harmful and painful sores came upon the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.
3The second 258angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it turned into blood, like that of a dead person, and every 259creature in the sea died.
4The 260third poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood.
5And I heard the angel of the waters say,
“Just are yoʋ, 261who is and who was, the Holy One,
because yoʋ have brought these judgments.
6For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,
and yoʋ have given them blood to drink;
262it is what they deserve.”
7And I heard 263the altar say,
“Yes, Lord God, the Almighty,
true and just are yoʋr judgments.”
8The 264fourth poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was permitted to scorch people with fire.
9People were scorched with intense heat, and they blasphemed the name of God, who had authority over these plagues, but they did not repent and give him glory.
10The 265fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and the beast's kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony
11and blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and sores, but they did not repent of their works.
12The 266sixth poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the east.
13Then I saw three unclean spirits that looked like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14They are demonic spirits performing 267signs, who go out to the kings 268of the whole world to assemble them for battle on 269that great day of God, the Almighty.
15(“Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his garments on, so that he will not walk around naked and have people see his shame.”)
16Then they assembled the kings at the place called in Hebrew, 270Megiddo.
17The 271seventh poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came from the throne of 272the temple of heaven, saying, “It is done!”
18Then there were 273flashes of lightning, peals of thunder, rumblings, 274and a great earthquake such as had not occurred since 275men have been on the earth, so great was the quake.
19The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. God remembered Babylon the great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath.
20Every island fled, and no mountain could be found.
21And great hailstones, about the weight of a talent, fell on people from heaven, and they blasphemed God for the plague of hail, because the plague was so severe.
